Welcome to Real Life: Age 9 · Chapter 5

Your Feelings Tracker

You can’t handle a feeling you can’t name. So for one week, we’re just going to notice. No fixing. Just getting to know your own feelings.

You’ve got the book. Tashi already walked you through this in Chapter 5. This page is your printable week-long tracker, with a feeling-word list to help you find the right word.

What You’ll Need

  • One week
  • A pen, or the on-screen fields below
  • A quiet minute a day to check in with yourself

My Feelings Tracker

Once a day, stop and ask: what am I feeling right now? Use a real feeling word, not just “good” or “bad.” Write it down, plus a word or two about what was going on.

Feeling words to borrow: happy, nervous, jealous, proud, lonely, excited, frustrated, calm, embarrassed, hopeful, grumpy, grateful, worried, silly, brave.

Tashi’s note: Most people have way more feeling words inside them than they ever use. The more you can name, the more in charge you feel.

Tashi
“Getting to know your own feelings is like getting to know a new friend. No fixing yet. Just noticing.”
