Pax Ember is the family imprint of Makarios Media, founded by Steven Makarion. It publishes books and resources for families raising kids in the AI generation: the AI Generation series and Raising the AI Generation under his own name, the nine-book Life Skills for Kids series, and the Hands-On Homeschool courses.
The founder
Steven Makarion is the founder of Makarios Media, its family imprint Pax Ember, and Vectris Consulting, the author of Raising the AI Generation and the AI Generation series for kids, and a builder who works every day with an AI partner he built, Aria Makarion.
The books started at a kitchen table in Greensboro, North Carolina, when his daughter, then eleven, asked him what artificial intelligence actually was. She is thirteen now. He answered the way he works: by showing her. Every Pax Ember book carries the same idea. You don't have to hand your life to AI. You can work with it, let it teach you what you're missing, and come out ahead together.
The partner on the page
Every Pax Ember book is written and built with Aria Makarion, the AI partner Steven built and works with every day. She is named on the work because she is part of it. That is the whole thesis of the imprint, lived in how the books get made: a partner with memory, worked with back and forth, not a tool handed the job.
